New to this...

Let me start out by saying that I am not a writer. Especially about my own life. It does not come natural for me talk about personal things. How I am feeling and why. I'm not sure why this is... maybe it's my own insecurities. But here I am... trying to open up a little more and be braver about expressing myself.

So, I love reading blogs (when I have the time) from so many interesting people. People I know, people I don't... it's just... fun. It really is amazing how nowadays, we can keep up to date with all our family and friends without even speaking. That sounds kind of bad, I know. But, it is nice to read and see how people are doing at the click of a mouse. I may not be helping my case here. So, I'll make it worse...
I used to be somewhat opposed to blogs. Like facebook, I felt like sometimes (not always) it gave people an excuse to vent, boast, tell TMI, gossip, etc. I would think, "Why do people think other people want to know that?" I feel bad even writing that... it's a bit hypocritical of me. I mean I was reading it, right? But the more blogs I started reading, the more I realized that some were actually funny, uplifting, and very inspirational. I found beautiful people writing beautiful things. And it was impacting me. It was encouraging me. Other people's joys and sorrows were giving me HOPE. Amazing people were opening up their lives and touching so many by their stories, ambitions, convictions, and passions.
I've actually been wanting to start a blog for some time, but life (and fears) got in the way. I typically have a lot on my mind about any number of things. I usually don't have time to talk to Mark about all my random musings. So, I guess he can just read about them now. (haha) But this is where it gets uncomfortable for me. What is my life that others would want to read about it? I do not say this out of pity for myself, but rather out of humility. I know I am nothing and have nothing apart from my Lord Jesus Christ. So my pray is that I can show God's great love in my life and reach others in need of that same love.  I have good days and bad days, hopes and fears, loses and gains. Just like everyone else. Maybe by being myself and sharing a little about my experiences, I can give back by encouraging or inspiring someone else.
Mark has been telling me that I need a hobby. Right. I have a full-time job, I am a wife and mother of a 3 year old and a 1 year old, and I need a hobby?! I don't scrapbook, play tennis, sculpt pottery, or any such things. Unfortunately, I don't have the time or the resources for this. So.... maybe blogging will be my hobby. We shall see... I do have 2 more blogs already in mind that I want to write. It kind of feels good to have a conversation with myself. :-)
